Fire in the Wounded Hills

An old Arkenruin mine has been discovered after a recent earthquake. Where once it was a network of buried tunnels, now it is a chasm in the foothills, glowing in the night with molten lava. The Arkenlords once used this place to... collect? manufacture? their best materials, and their defenses remain to protect those secrets. Your job, thanks to a local smith, is to discover them anyways.

Fire in the Wounded Hills is a 3-4 session adventure written for ICON v1.5. I ran a significant chunk of it for a 3-person party who had never played ICON before, but I'm unsure how much of our difficulties were because of inexperience vs actual bad design on my part. Structurally, this is a Dungeon Crawl expedition with the added Explore rule. It builds within the default ICON setting and is self-contained, functioning well as an independent side quest in a larger campaign.
